Keep your 4870. 5770 will perform the same or worse.

5770 > 4870

+ less heat and Dx11

Keep what you have. Save your money and upgrade to a 58XX or a Fermi card later.
5770 will be a little better but not by much. I'd just wait and save up for a 5850.

^^ Lies.

Why wait for something else? Sell that 4870, pick yourself up a *quality* 5770, and enjoy the amazing picture clarity, low power consumption, and low temps.

Variety is the spice of life. Give it a shot!

I dont really know about the + cash part, but depending on what 4870 you have it could be a straight trade.

It depends on how much the cash and what the expectation is. Here are some numebrs.

Performance wise they are kinda equal, yes the 5770 edges out. But when u oc the card the gap will increase so yea if u r short on cash and you are willing to OC go for it.
Plus less power draw on idle and load and less heat and dx11 and eyenfinity.

im leaning toward a trade right now i just don't want half life 2 to lose performance
apparently with newer drivers the 5770 is closer to the 4890 than the 4870... though that's still meaning you'll get at best 20-25% performance boost (20% from 4870-> 4890, and being generous, 5% from driver improvements)

i wouldn't think that that would be worth it unless it ends up costing you something like $20 or less

+ newer, better antialiasing/anisotropic filtering hardware. The af filtering is indeed perfect, I love it.

Link is dead, but if its reference, you might be able to work something out. Good luck!

I would personally save $ and get a 5870 instead. It destroys every dx11 game I've thrown at it and performs on par with my old crossfired 1GB 4870's in older games like half life, crysis, etc.
