my motherboards compatible with ddr2 1066 with timings such as 7-7-7-21.
If I install a kit of ddr3 1066MHz @ 7-7-7-21 timings would it possably work?

Won't physically fit in the board.

The pin count/displacement is different:

If it could fit it would fry an AM2 or a AM2+ CPU and most probably the board itself.

Keep an eye out on eBay for DDR2 2x2GB kits (or until you get enough Rep to buy from out Sale section), but if you're going from 800MHz kit to a 1066MHz kit, it aint worth it anyway, to be honest.

AMD's perform better with tighter timings to higher frequency, that frequency increase won't make jack of a difference, especially compared to a small NB overclock, in terms of bandwidth.

As an aside, DDR3 is ridiculously cheap now, I just hope it stays that way for when I can afford my 990FX Mobo.
