i bought the game warhammer online AoR tonight..... and i have some stupid news to anyone wanting to buy this game....
BUY A PREPAID GAME CARD!!!!
i bought mine without one... and i was not able to make an account with the key provided.... free 30 days my white butt....
Oh, well instead of getting a game card (unless you love those, i love collecting my Nexon Cards.) you can always just get a Pre-Paid visa or something. or well if you are jsut mad at how you had to pay for a game that said you did not for the first month well i can understand, but by the title you seemed frantically mad due to it.
Well you cannot really help it, games have issues. not HUGE ones but they are pimples none the less, they have bugs. take far cry 2, it has more bugs the star ship troopers 3. i mean really haha. but don't fret. you would have to buy a time card anyways. jsut get one then i am sure it will add on the 30 days
Uh 99.99 percent of all pay MMO's need a CC regardless to activate the account. It's not charged if you take it off right after, or just leave it on and it wont be charged til your free 30 days are up.
So don't be bashing something you obviously don't know about.

Calm down Spock, i think he simply wishes they said "You need a CC or a Time Card to activate the game" which i am sure they do in the fine print, but still it is kind of deceving in its own way
use an expired credit card or a non activated one.
Edit: i read his first post, and it made little to no sense, i thought he ment when he got it he didnt have any game time so he needed a game card + the game to play for the first month.

Nothin to calm down about. I'd say it's you and the OP that need the calming down.

Yeah, every MMO I've played needs a time card or a credit card to activate the account. The first month is still free though. If you use a time card then you get 2 months if you use a credit card then it just won't charge it till after 30 days. I know EQ2 is the same way and I'm pretty sure WoW is too.
I would just refund the game cause it sucks anyways lol. I played with my buddies for fun and we quit at 40 and never renewed. The main problem is population imbalances...hence the server xfers they are doing.
Actually, when WAR first came out (as I got the game close to its release date) you could simply enter the code and be away, I STILL haven't put in my credit card details.. I will have to from the 3rd Nov though when the 30 days runs out.
However, last week or so this system was changed to the more common system by which you do need a credit card to sign up and thus get your 30 free days.
I'm playing Warhammer online and I played the hell out of WoW.
I prefer WO over WOW mainly because the grindfest that is WOW is non-existant in WO.
You can literally level up doing solely PvP (called RvR; realm vs realm in WO)
I can understand some people getting tired with the game at lvl 40 but it's been out a little over a MONTH and WoW had the sameeee issues with not enough end game content when 1st launched.
The game has a lot of potential and I understand from a developers perspective you aren't going to make a ton of end game content before launching an MMO because it could just be unpopular and there's more important places to focus resources first hand.
One thing that really shines to me about WO is the developers actually listen and take player recommendations. The honor from RvR (called 'Renown' in WO) has been balanced twice for healers recently due to all the feedback. They are also releasing two more classes that were planned on launch but were cut. The patches have been pretty regular and frequent as opposed to WoW's big patches that are usually pretty spaced apart.
Keep sieges are a blast too and WoW never really did open world PvP well. The servers would crash anytime someone attacked a city and capturing towers was boring and offered worse rewards then doing arenas/bg's.
