So normally I would say okay i bricked it w/e. IT's an older router and we just replacede it. But right now all the docs i read are telling me i should be able to recover it.

THe power LED is dimly lit with no other lights on until i plug in the ethernet cable and then the LED lights up and shows correct activity when I ping it etc.

Cool so I might not have completely killed it.

I can ping it using a static IP config on my PC and I have tried the TFTP tool found here:
http://www.shadowsoftware.net/shadow...rs/linksys.htm

I have also tried the router tools found here:
http://www.draytek.com.au/downloads.php

I have read through and am trying to follow these three docs...
http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials...0724_3618616_2

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...om_a_Bad_Flash

http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wi...ion/m-p/156765

The firmware tools seem to be able to upload firmware to the box and that's it then it becomes unresponsive to a ping for a few tries and then comes back on....

The firmware i am using to try and ressurect this is the latest downloaded from linksys's site and is the correct hardware version (7).

Upon ping you should get ttl of 64 on return from command line. I would keep doing whatever the guides say honestly, if you've exhausted that, then IDK. I have ddwrt on my router, but I had no problems flashing.
