X-FI Fatal1ty Pro Series IS A JOKE!

Ok so I was thinking of buying a new soundcard, creative seams to be the best for gamers so I looked at there best card. Creative Soundblaster X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series. It has a steep price in stores at around 180$.

The next step down is the Soundblaster X-FI Titanium, it's retail at around 85$ at local microcenter. I thought you know what that Fatal1ty card must be better, it's bigger, more expensive, ect...

WRONG!!!!!

Look at the specs of BOTH cards! They are exactly the SAME but the Fatal1ty one cost like 100$ more!

SB XFI Titanium: http://www.soundblaster.com/products...ct=17927&nav=1

SB XFI Titanium Fatal1ty: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...ct=17791&nav=1

So looks like your paying 100$ more on average for a card that does the exact same thing except it takes more room, has a Fatal1ty logo and please don't tell me that's a heatsink, like soundcards create a lot of heat right. That's almost as bad as bigfoot networks trying to justifies the 200$ price tag on there "Gaming NIC" that has a big K shaped heatsink.

Don't buy unless you want to waste your money! I feel bad for the people who feel for that gimmick.

Lesson learned, don't buy Fatal1ty gear at all. OCZ Makes "Fatal1ty" PSU's that cost like 80$ more for the same 700W PSU.

X-Fi cards have needed heatsinks for 3+ years now.

That's not a heatsink but an EMI shield.

The Titanium has 2MB while Titanium Fatal1ty has 64MB. (X-RAM isn't really used)

The KillerNIC is not really a gaming NIC as hardware NIC. Its specs are pretty impressive for what it is. Even the basic TOE NICs cost $100-300.

Don't see anything about having 64 mb of X-ram on the regular one. I'm pretty sure the difference between gaming sound cards and their counterparts are the difference in the the ram. Supposedly they have their own ram so that it doesn't draw on your system's ram.
Knock knock, whos there? Fatality, Fatality who?... exactly, im sick of the brand just because hes "pro"
Everything with the Fatality brand has always been a gimmick. Even down to the first A-Bit Fatality mobo. Look how great it did for them...

It was promised to smoke the competition, and that john wendel himself actually worked side by side with A-Bit to produce the best gaming motherboard ever conceived.

Or... it was a marketing ploy... an emblem slapped on a heatsink, and new colors and a logo or two, and a high end price tag to match.

Fatality is a joke, and so are his products. Do not waste money on this.

Since when does that make a difference, that's just another one of those marketing things. If all xram is doing is saving your systems ram than I can spare some, especially with 8gigs. So your paying 100$ extra for 64mb of ram, that's nice...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think $100 is justified. I was just making an observation.

Got mine when it was only $25-35 more than its regular counterpart plus they had a sale going on just my card, so I jumped on it. I've had it for a few years now and have been pleased with it. But the dang thing is huge. Got it on my lowest slot and it still feels like it's contricting my airflow for my bottom video card.

100USD for 64mb of ram is a great deal man, you can either get that XRam which is super leet compared to normal ram because it has an X, or you can get some measily 4gb of Corsair Dominator 1066 for 70 dollars.

There's no comparison, get XRAM or ****.

More like triple XXRam is better than jesus.

Also while you guys are in the market for leet Fatality gear, I have "Rook's Fatality Series Motherboard Jumpers" for sale, they're only 64.99USD + shipping. I etched a cool looking F on the side, it's very small, but the performance is there. Here are the specs:

-Lightning Black Paint with Red "F", so your friends know you know whats up
-24karat Gold Plated Connectors
-Custom Jumper Heatsink with "Fatality" brand
-Custom carrying box with "Fatality logo"

I do agree that it is a marketing scheme now adays. We can compare it to Air Jordans of the nineties. The shoes cost $200-300, yet it was made of the same material as its $50 counterparts.

Some people are just plain crazy when it comes to "hot" names on products just cause the kid won some sort of tournament or something.

You'll find this to be true in RC modeling world too. Some kid won a big race, slapped his name on a car, price almost doubled.

Hey i love my card and if you go to newegg it $125 or so and if you have herd it it sounds so nice and i need the shield because lots of electrial noise around my pc ok maby its cheaper at bestbuy
staying away from anything branded fatal1ty, gamer, G4M3R, etc has been pretty well documented on the site.

that being said, i happen to have acquired an X-fi Fatal1ty sound card (not the pro one) from a trade and it sounds pretty damn good on my senn's and promedia2.1's.

though creative might be overpriced, they do sound good.
