X-Fi Titanium Professional Audio SB-XFT-PA on an P6T Deluxe V2

Hey guys,
I'm buying this X-Fi (Titanium Professional Audio SB-XFT-PA) and was wondering were it would work best.
I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 and only one video card, so I have 1 PCI, 2PCIe x16, and 1 PCI x4 available.
I was thinking of putting the X-Fi at the lowest X16 slot (I read somewhere else that it fits OK) cause its the farthest away from everything else.
Is there any issue that I should be aware? Is the performance equal in any slot?

Also, some fellas on the creative forum have had a problem with this same setup: P6T Deluxe V2 + X-Fi (fatal1ty) + win 7 64. ( http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-...s-7/m-p/542196 )
Have anybody had similar problems over here? Is that just a "drivers issue"? Or is a big deal? Any guess?

How much are you spending on the sound card? If it's comparable to another high end card like the asus xonar d2, d2x, d1, dx, the auzentech prelude or auzentech x-fi forte, and lastly the HT omega striker 7.1, then you might want to decide about being proactive if you know that the x-fi titanium will cause issues and just simply avoid it and get another card, if that makes sense. who knows though, it might work out in the end.

Yeah, that does come to mind but I am a total fan of Creative since my I bought their SoundBlaster AWE32 (around 1997 maybe
), and actually thata post that I talked about is the only complaint I've ever heard.
It is of comparable price to Xonar and the likes, and maybe I'll even bite the bullet and go for the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champ (here in Japan they only sell the champ from that series).
I'm thinking those dudes (that had a problem with it) had some "drivers situation". Was just making sure

Anyway, where should I stick the card?
PCI x1, x4 or x16 (most distant from everything else inside my case)?
I am asking just regarding the positioning. I know it will work in any of those. But will it better with more space or that makes no difference (electromagnetic interference, heat...)
