From what I have learned about pc audio is that most people try to avoid creative sound cards all together. There are good alternatives such as the ASUS Xonar cards or Auzentech
cards.

Edit: if what I said above doesn't help, I'm pretty sure the titanium is a better card

Creative > Onboard for us normal people who don't have $500+ headphones or enthusiast speakers.

Creative had issues with drivers about a year ago, but have fixed their drivers since then. Their cards are decent, and the drivers have come a long way. However, as the previous poster pointed out, the ASUS Xonar is a decent card. I dont know how it matches up to the newer Titanium, but it is much better then the Xtreme Music.

But out of the two cards you listed, get the Titanium.

I agree that a dedicated sound card is almost always better than onboard but why should he spend money on something that most people recommend against when there is a better product for a comparable price?

Okay you'r the best
but if i were to choose an ASUS Xonar cards or Auzentech which one would be the best for the price? i've seen some called 'ASUS Xonar DX/XD', 'ASUS Xonar DS' and 'ASUS Xonar D1' those are pretty cheap.

The Auzentech ones start price is nealy double of the rest but are they worth it as i only have 'Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II' and the sennheiser hd 350 headphones (hero mod). both of those only have 2.0 (T40 has wannabe subs build in
).

Will i be hearing difference a going from my old 'SupremeXF II' and to a new soundcard?
and how good of a soundcard would i need to feel it?

If you game mostly, get the Auzentech X-Fi. If you want the card more for music, get a Xonar.

Are the ASUS Xonar DX/XD and ASUS Xonar DS inferior to the ASUS Xonar DX & D1 cus they are a great deal cheaper?!
The Auzentech use creative chips and they just do it better. Creative does not have the driver issues they used to. In fact I am seeing more people with driver problems with the ASUS cards.

The X-Fi drivers have long matured in Vista and should work pretty well in Windows 7 now as well. I've owned three X-Fi XtremeMusic cards and I've yet to have one with issues personally. My friend gave me his XtremeMusic after the power filter capacitor leaked brown crap all over the place but Creative was pretty quick to send me a full-fledged retail box replacement even though I sent in only the card. Creative's not that bad. It's just that whole Vista fiasco that everyone still has in their minds. However, it's not completely Creative's fault but also Microsoft's fault. As a matter of fact, a lot of companies had driver issues when Vista first came out so take all the Creative hate with a heavy dose of salt.
