How does a x1600 256 MB compair to an x1800 XT 512 MB? I know the x1800 XT is better, but how much better? Could the x1600 max-out games like BF2? What about CS:S? HL2:EP1?

The X1600 was not a great series... I seriously doubt it could max out any of those games.

One card couldnt max out any of the games as it only has a 128bit, but two cards could. I paid about $200 for both of my Sapphire x1600Pro OC'd Edition GDDR3.

The only game that lags a bit for me is Hitman: Blood Money but I think its a user error.

The X1600XT gets about 5.3k in 3dmark05, while the X1800XT gets 9k, a ~41% increase in score! But the X1800XT only has about a 1.3K point advantage in 3dmark06.

I think you will notice a huge difference when you play games at high resolutions, and start increasing AA. The X1800XT will be the obvious winner.

No, its just that I would like to get a Mac, and the Mac Pro is too much, and the iMacs only go up to an x1600. If it was a better card, I might get it an replace my main rig with it, but since it doesnt seem to be all that great, I think I will just have to get a Mac Mini and stick with my PC for gaming.

The x1600 is about 1/2 the speed......

Its like going from a 6800GT to a 7900GTX. To put it in nvidia terms.
