If you have one of the following cards:

-X1950XTX
-X1950XT
-X1950Pro
-X1950GT
-X1900XTX
-X1900XT
-X1900GT
-X1800XT
-X1800XL
-X1800GTO
-X1650XT
-X1650Pro
-X1600XT
-X1600Pro

Download the FAH GPU client, get the 7.3 drivers and fold! Lets show those PS3 owners who has the real folding power

Only 803 GPUs folding, but are running at 47 Teraflops, putting them ahead of Linux with 44 Teraflops and 25770 CPUs.

Dont forget to fold for Team 37726!

GPUs are essentially massively parallel floating point processors. Each shader is like a mini CPU, and the X1900 has 48 of them.

The point system is set up to be fair to both CPU and GPU folders, so you do not earn a whole lot more than a CPU folder. Still, you are contributing a whole lot more to life-saving research, and that is what really counts.

I'd contribute if I was home. I'd be running the PS3 and the GPUs. I'm gonna make my own team I think in the future
Someone post how well the client runs.

I believe the GPU architecture is unable to support folding.

Only if you have a multicore CPU, since one core is needed to monitor the GPU.

I used the gpu client when it first came out and i wasnt particularly impressed with the speed. I have an X1600pro, but i think that the x1800 adn 1900's will do much better

They make an X1600 vanilla? Ive only see the Pro and XT variants. But it should support it, as it is still an X1600 series card.

Be sure to get the 7.3 Catylist drivers. If those do not work try Cat 6.5 or 6.10.

Keep in mind, its not a real good idea to fold with your CPU and GPU at the same time, since the GPU uses a bit of CPU also. But a 1950xtx brings in 660 PPd 24/7. A pro would probably do 330, as each wu would probably take 13-14 hours. (not sure, never could get dx to work with folding).
