How much faster is the X1900XT than the X1800XT, in 3DMarks06/05/03? Is the price difference worth it? Also will you see a big difference in FPS while playing BF2, F.E.A.R., and HL2 LC? Thanks, just wondering

mmm from what i've seen thus far, the X1900XT beats out its predessor by about 1500 3DMarks in 05, in crossfire it score around 13000-14000, and this is at stock frequencies (which suggest what to you
). And you will see a difference in FPS only if ur playing at 1600x1200 with all quality options on + full AA and HQ AF. Other than that, they'll play BF2, HL2: Lost Coat, and ur other games the same @ 1024x768 - 1600x1200. But don't get me wrong, this card kicks the crap out of the X1800XT performance wise. And the 7800GTX 512 to boot (plus 512 isn't available, lawl @ nvidia for paper launch). Soooo the only factor for you might be money

In those games you will see no difference and the price will not be worth it, however it is the future games that you may see some difference in. It will of course have no trouble with any of those games.

DX10 cards out soon so don't spend too much money on a big card now !

think about it, r580 has 16 pipelines, 48 shaders. End of story.

there is sooo much stuff on this new DX i dont even care let them make a DX 10 the 9 card will still work fine on it. my 9200 was a dx8 card and ran dx9 theyll have some sort of update and youll run it fine. None is that stupid to put out smething like that without any backwards comptibility. so go ahead buy a card now i see you being just fine when the new DX comes out

Hey, as you may know I am Ninja_Boy's brother and I saw this thread and thought it needed clarification, my parents agreed to buy him a R580 in March because he got his computer without any graphics card (I let him borrow my X600XT until then for free) so money really isn't any issue.
I was just going to post that money isn't an issue, I was just wondering if it was going to be $50 more or $200 lol.

Oh and I'm too lazy to come to your room so I'll just post it, you mean X1900XTX not XT.
No, with that $100 I could get case fans so my computer won't be so loud while I'm sleeping. I'll probably get a SlientX one like you but only 1 120mm in green. Anyway, I will just overclock the XT so it will be faster than the XTX.
Oh, by the way in March our parents won't pay Remonster so however much I get I will spend on my computer, I won't get $650 for New Year's.
hey people i have just noticed that the x1900xt's are for sale here in england, but what is the main difference between that and my x1800xt, i know the x1900xt has 48 shaders, but what does the x1800xt have! and the speeds are only slightly faster aren't they? surely the extra £100 cant be worth it
Ok new review from Guru3d.com,
http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/315/

While everyone was breaking out the dry ice and cascades on their NV 512s, Macci already had the record broken on air cooled cards and with full image quality in our lab. And he wasn't even trying....

The 3D Mark 05 record has been broken! And on air!
