My card is overheating, I need to open the side panel to fix the problem, the thing is I have 3 fans in the comp.

When I play CS:S the game freeze like an old NES

can it be because the box is too small ?

X1900 overheating? Those things can handle insane temps (up to like 100C). You should be deaf from the stock fan also by now (if you have stock).

You sure it's the video card overheating and not a PSU crapping out or so?

Sure it's not some driver issue? Did you re-install drivers? What ARE your temps?

I would suspect the PSU (this one draws more power than the regular X1900). It might be just too much for it.

Honestly, you don't hear often about X1900's overheating, since those guys can take a beating and the stock cooler is capable to handle it.

Get ATITool. It will monitor temps for you

You have AtiTool? Or check in the control panel somewhere (haven't had an Ati card for a while).

get a router, that helps a lot with blocking viruses, unless you download something that hides the virus. bad news. most viruses are installed by scanning ip addresses and jumping in on known ips already infected. a router will interupt your ip.................... as for you vcard, reformat your system and drivers. get rid of that virus and see how your card runs. please post your results, i am interested because i am still new user for ati.

You should be able to hit 10k in 3dmark05, 5k in 3dmark06. I can play all my games fully maxed in everything (1280x1048 res).
As for heat, when overclocking, my X1900XT went above 90C at times. I added a tidewater and temps went down up to 40C when overclocking.
