No point in comparing it to the 900$ on ebay 7800gtx 512mb card.

That card is dead, you cant buy em. The x1900 will be around 550$ and will actually be instock, so hats off to ATI for once.

ATI can not afford to screw up again, and good thing that they can provide a hard launch before the G71, or they may just have turned belly up and gone 3DFX.

Cards are so incredibly fast now. I am still gonna wait till a single card gets around 8k in '06. By then my X800 will really be old and I think the update should tide me over for Dx10 (though, i still am reluctant about that as well)

Wouldn't surprise me if you see these new cards pulling 8k in 3DMark06.

It wouldn't surprise me either, but I really think that they will score around 7k stock with an FX57, IMO.

Nice, come March 20th my bro is getting a X1900XTX from my parents for Iranian new year, part of their deal with him or whatever, basically I can't wait to see what a X1900XTX with a AMD X2 4400+ @ 2.75GHz and 2GB DDR600 can do to today's games
(that is what he is running but he has to use my old MSI RX600XT
for now....) and then maybe around summer time, for my birthday (June 22) I might get one of these or a nVidia G71, even though I have a SLI X16 mobo, I honestly cannot say that I would even consider SLI or CrossFire since I would much rather just get 1 new top of the line card and also get the benefit of the new features (hopefully by the time I upgrade again after this G71 or R580, DX10 and SM4 will have come out and become commonplace) I can however say that my bro IS getting CrossFire, probably getting his X1900CF in about September for his birthday, lucky, lol!
