Trying to fix a rig for a friend and I am between these two,. I had some bad experiences with X1950 Pro like high temp and all so I am wondering which is the best choice. I am thinking GT cause I read around that overclocked it reaches the same level an x1960 pro reaches. Anyway can you people tell me which you prefer?

In the poll i meant GT not FT and its not 1859 pro >> its 1950 pro... I think i am still drunk from yesterday? >>

Well, I have the GT, and run it at 621MHz and 1500MHz 24/7, temps rarely getting past 72 c. It is the same as a Pro, just lower clocks. Same amount of shaders etc. Pulled a 4650 in 3DMark06 with an old Sempron 64 3000+ 754. Yet to see what it'll do with my e4300.

You reach those clocks with an aftermarket cooler or the stock one?

Nah, take the x1950Pro and overclock it to high speeds. Youll need a aftermarket cooler for that the x1950pro cooler sucks. You can find used ro new x1950 pro's on ebay for 100-150$

I would get the x1950gt. Cheaper and it will OC the same way the x1950pro does (both will end up at similar speeds once overclocked).

I'm pretty sure that the GTs have lower rated memory, as well as different PCB parts.
X1950 Pro. They're both cheap anyway....the ASUS is like $150 I believe.
