X1950 is faster by a small margin.
9500 GT slower by a small margin +DX10 support.

The X1950 is the better card but gah that's still brutal. Be a good friend and pick up a used 8800GT for the poor guy?

its actually for my g/f's little brother. im in the process of upgrading her computer so i dont really have a ton of money to do his as well but i figured since i had each of these sitting around i might as well give him one of them.

could be worse, i do have an 8400GS kicking around as well, but i didnt even bother mentioning that one

hmm i asked in a different thread if this

Antec Basiq BP350 350W

would be enough and everyone said yes but it doesnt have that many amps

OK

Then :
X1950 is faster by a good margin. (kepp in mind it is more power hungry & hotter than 9500 GS)
9500 GS is slower by a good margin + DX10 Support.

So he can play crysis in dx10 mode? I mean really.. what games are there that benefit from DX10 a lot over dx9?

In this case I'll take the faster card with no dx10 over the slower dx10 card.

i dont care about the directx difference, mostly due to the fact either card is too slow to run dx10 games anyways (if the x1950pro could in the first place)
