Same here buddy
... over $250 is just not worth it for me... I'll just get a x1650xt or pro instead....

so then if you have a pci-e and agp board, you could have one agp and one pci-e in crossfire!

heh or not lol

How does this rate compared to an X1800xl?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but boards that combine AGP and PCI-E only have 1 of the slots usable at a time (afaik). I may be wrong, but im definetly certain that crossfire wont happen across AGP/PCI-E.

It doesn't. Have you ever heard about double AGP ports?

rate compared? I think you mean performance, so lets just say how does a X1900GT compare to an X1800XL? Same amount of raster pipes, but the X1900GT has triple the pixel shaders, slightly faster memory, and the performance relative to a X1800XT.

X1800XT > X1800XL by a large margin

X1900GT ~= X1800XT slightly

X1950PRO ~= X1900GT ~= X1800XT (within the bracket)

So, generally the performance of the X1800XT model, with more pixel shading power, less raster pipes, but now with an internal CrossFire connector for $199 USD ~= $230 CAD. Not too shabby of a deal.

No you don't because the core is physically 12 pipes, 36 pixel shaders, no unlocking for this core, it isn't a crippled one, it was designed to be just the X1950PRO... sorry dude.

Other technical reasons too, X1950XTX uses GDDR4 memory, X1950XT hasn't been announced yet, but will probably use a bigger frame buffer, and slightly faster GDDR3. But as I said, its physically just 12 pipes, so unless you know how to change the chip at the transistor level, no chance whatsoever of unlock.

So it's a little faster than mine? My card was $300 about 6 months ago but it has 512MB so I think it was still worth it, even now.
