This card looks equivelant to an FX-60 for just under $400 on newegg. Anyone wanna pick one up and see how it OCs?

2.6 GHz, Dual Core, 2 x 1 MB L2, AM2: $379

Sounds liek a pretty sweet deal to me.

That's still a little steep if your looking at a new build. I'd get that If I already had AM2 though =)

Well, the higher end stuff never really becomes a good deal... look at the 7800GTX cards that can't be found for under $400.

I think this is much better value. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103754, 120$ less and I have the feeling the x2 5200 won't be oc'ing much higher than this because I barely seen any FX62's going more than 200Mhz faster than how I'm running mine. Same large L2 cache, just 200Mhz slower. Mine OC'ed like a champ - using it at 3.14Ghz with 1.55vcore. Can hit 3.2 with 1.6 vcore....i'm afraid to put any more juice than that on air cooling.

I don't know why I called it a card... be nice to me.

Anyway, the 5xxx just seemed so much better. Yes, I know $400 is a lot, but not compared to like $800 like the FX-62.

Which reminds me, my friend just bought a rig in August for like $3k, with an FX-62, dual 7900 GTXs, dual 150GB Raptors...

I'm hopin my Opty 165 beats him, and eventually my K8L build will pwn his for a lot less than he paid

It doesn't make sense though, you'd think the companies would want to get rid of the hardware instead of just holding onto it for years until it's completely usless.

Don't get this X2 5200 unless you like stock performance, a few types lower reaches exactly the same overclock. 3.0 - 3.2 max. (on air).

.... doesn't the FX-60 have an unlocked multiplier?...just a thought why it'd be better than this.

I agree. Any more than 3.14 on mine and it starts needing 1.6+ vcore and thats water cooling territory.

I just ordered an Opty 165 a few days ago. I was just trying to see what it would cost to go AM2... it's a lot.
