on my mobile so forgive me.
I'm rocking the x570 aorus elite/2700x/Thermaltake 240AIO/HyperX Predator Black 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 HX432C16PB3K2/16 Samsung BDIE Single Rank in a Core P3 case with Corsair Platinum PSU and EVGA 1080ti SC2.
haven't really over clocked much since coming back from a hiatus where i didn't upgrade and kept my
45nm AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ on GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AMD 790X like circa 2010.
needless to say 1st gen Ryzen really peaked my interest in this all over again so here I am. Been a life long AMD guy since the k6 days.
I've seen various posts and how-to's, which I've read thru. I had a msi b350 gaming with 1600x as my first dive into Ryzen, but really wanted something a little more robust for OCing which I know ryzen 2000/3000 doesn't have much head room but this board has great features and planned on pairing it with a 3700x or even 3900x down the road.
Well wifey bought me a 2700x on my bday back in March. damn thing was $300 us and now seeing it for sub $150. Makes me wanna be like ***, but it is a good thing that Intel now has competition.
Enough about me....
can anyone share their thoughts on 2700x on x570 Aorus Elite and Overclocking or maybe high-end tweaks? I'm comfortable in the bios and watched Buildzoids vid on the PCB analysis and also on the gigabytes bios options tour. I have tried Ryzen Dram calc and using hardware unboxed info and using fast to generate timing my system will not post. run the standard XMP for 3200 and I'm good. looking to push the boundary on what is possible giving my current specs.
basically I want to get a higher all core frequency and higher memory frequency as well as tighter timing.
Any info would be helpful I know exact settings are impossible the silcon lottery being what it is. just looking for a good starting point.
