I would say get the 6600. The 6600GT (128mb) blows the doors of the x700pro (256mb) Yes, while the 6600 can be OC'd you will not reach the speeds of the GT as the DDR cannot sustain the speeds that GDDR3 can. I have a friend who just got a 6600 and he loves it. I would reccomend you save a few more dollars and get the GT though.

I have a PIXEL VIEW 6600GT 128DDR3 and its much better than a SPARKLE 6600 256DDR. NO way can you get 6600 to GT speeds! 6600 core is like 350 Mhz stock and memory is only 500 Mhz. I over clocked and damaged 6600 when i went to 380/570. I spent £9 more and got a 6600GT 128mb DDR3 and thats 500/900 at stock but max itl go is 582 Mhz/1.04 Ghz.

6600GT but be carefull im having problems with mine although im sure its my psu, go with a good brand like. SPARKLE/GIGABIT/ASUS/MSI/ if you can go for these, these companys have been around for a long time, although XFX is new, people hardly complain about those

well this seems to be false information that you have just gave me as i have read several website reviews which i will list below and they all state that the xfx 6600 DDR2is just shy of the gt's speeds at stock .i think that you have miss read what i have wrote but here is a web site or 2 to put you right
