Hi guys,

I have an X800 XT (AGP) with Artic Silcencer 4 Cooler + Ramsink. I've been trying to OC it using ATI Tool. I did 4 tests, the results are displayed below

The tests start off and the temp rising normally as it should, but then the test will appear to stop, the 3d stuff keeps moving etc but its almost like ATI Tool has stopped trying to find more CORE ... the first 3 tests all stopped and the 4th test which was high, lost signal to monitor so was forced to reboot the machine

Results:

1.) 570.38 core @ 53º - stopped after 6mins
2.) 556.88 core @ 53º - stopped after 4 mins
3.) 516.38 core @ 52º - stopped ater 1-2 mins
4.) 591.26 core @ 54º - monitor went off and had to reboot

Idle temp for the card is 29-30º

Why would it stop attempting more core? Any ideas?

Cheers
James

I was using 0.25 BETA but it kept freezing the whole PC at times, so have reverted back to 0.24 which was the last stable release i think

Yep, there's no real point in using the beta version for your card. Is it still freezing with 0.24?

no mate no more freezing ... when i say freezing, it use to be when i ran ATI Tools the whole PC would freeze and beep, forcing me to hit the reset button on the tower but reverting back t 0.24 seems to have fixed that ...

All i want to do is run the card with a little boost, but dont know what to set the core/mem to ... hence using ATI Tool to find the max, but its throwing a wobbly lol

any ideas?

Thanks man!

If you're still having problems with the automatic overclocking, go into settings and tick the change clock settings immediately after moving slider slider box.
Now you can adjust the core and memory speeds manually whilst scanning for artifacts.
If you still get problems, like locking/freezing etc then it's likely to be a power issue. Just have to set as high as you can or get another psu.

im having that problem too. I'm using the latest ATI tool, and after i get to 460MhZ core on auto overclock my monitor shuts off and computer reboots. I'd like to solve that!

Same advice as above really. If using a beta version, switch to 0.24. If you are using 0.24, it sounds like the card is losing power, probably due to the psu.
