I don't think so. "6" would be "0110" binary meaning the 1st and 4th quads are permanently disabled.

Sadly I don't think they are unlockable, however the r480 core is meant to be good at overclocking so i suppose you could squeeze a bit of power out of it.

Your pipes are locked via the die. I have the same card as you. Which brand is yours? If you have the r480 core you should be able to overclock it pretty well, and also flash to a modified x850xt(pe) bios. If you have the r423, you won't be able to OC the core as well, but you should be able to flash to a x800xt(pe) modified bios. Note that flashing to either of these will not unlock to any more pipelines, but will raise performance.

I got a Powercolor x800GT. That would be an r480* core wouldn't it? I'm too lazy to turn off my comp and take off the fan and stuff to check.

Yes thats the r480 core...
