planning on getting my friend a present, what should i get him this x850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102621 or this x1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102682 ? what who you guys say...price dont matter
ps also im getting him a dfi crossfire mobo ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136165 ) so crossifre and dual cards is a very high probability so ...idk just though i would mention-trey

who gives a damn about SM3 or SM2, the x1600 is more of a budget card with one hell of a bottleneck somewhere i cant remember

SM3.0 on an X1600 Pro is practically useless anyways because games that use it will send the cards performance down the drain, seeing as it can hardly keep up with a 6600 GT.

That X850 card is an X850 Crossfire edition, you could buy just a regular X850 XT PCIe card for possibly cheaper. With a crossfire motherboard, you could later add the Crossfire edition for crossfire support, but both the X850 XT and X850 Crossfire editions are going to be hard to find in a years time.

Also remember that X850 crossfire is limited to 1600x1200 @ 60hz refresh rate.
