OK i have a doosie of a story now.....

Just attempted to flash my X850Pro to an XT so id get the 16 pipes, well IT WORKED... Almost perfectly... after falshing the thing i reboot, re-install cat 6.10 drivers and re-start again. BAM!! ATI tool is reading 16 pipes and im really, really happy!!! but just then disaster strikes, i open the "3D View" in ATI tool and am over-joyed to see the avg. framerate shoot up to like 312 over my previous 251, and then it screams all the way down to 12 and the tem p on the card skyrocketed to 98!!!!!!!! ***?!?!?!?!? I imediately shut the power supply off and then back on, hit hte "on" button and look into the side of my case and realize hte stupid fan AINT EVEN SPINNING WHATSOEVER! well, not much harm done, re-flashed to my backed-up bios and it works now.
Im noticing a few things

1. It didnt stay at 12 pipes (probrably obvious)
2. The temp graph in ATI Tool is more erradic and less smooth looking when the temp goes up
3. My framerate went DOWN to 233, could i have damaged the card?
4. My non-OC'ed AQ3 score went down a few hundred points, is this hinting at the above?

I am willing to try again if someone knows EXACTLY what happened to me, Bad BIOS etc... Would the X850XT PE fan control enabled fix this? Im not going to try this until I get a few VERY confident answers, any help will be LOVED!

I just flashed to the XTPE and started GTR2 up and after a minute or so the screen froze, so I shut down manually, rebooted and looked in the case and the fan has stopped( Do I need to use a fan control bios or something?
