Its because the x850xt doesn't support HDR or Shader model 3.0 which is half of the 3dmark06 benchmark test. Download 3dmark05 and test that for your card... Another thing that might help is get some nice custom drivers...

I think 06 runs graphics that are best suited for ATI x1xxx and nVidia 7xxx series cards, so your card won't be as good at it as a newer card would be. Also, another GB of RAM may help a lot. However, that is still a great card that can run any game at good detail and get good framerates. It just won't look as good at games like Oblivion as an x1800 or x1900 would. I would also recommend running 3dMark 05 or even 04, and the Aquamark benchies are good, too.

Welcome to the forums, and if you could fill out your system specs in the User CP you wouldn't have to do that^ in every post.

Yours Truly,

5008? That is lower than it should be. You should be pulling at least 5800stock if not 6k.

Not bad, not bad... although Xeoc is right you should be able to reach 6k.. If it wasn't a Dell overclocking your cpu would have helped tremendously...

It would perform better as you will have increased clocks and enabled more pipelines if there not already active. However only flash if your card can handle the temps of a X850. You will need to overclock to X850 speeds to seee if your card can cope with it first.

Very true enterprise, stock coolers just don't cut it when tweaking clocks/memory and or flashing bios.I have been down that path and the difference was a staggering 80/85 deg c. to 47 deg c. with max core and mem.

For flashing go here but it will not make any difference than doing an easy software overclock.
