Nvidia: Intel Is Scared, We Will Win in Court Next Year.

Nvidia’s Chief Exec Again Promises to Win Legal Battle Against Intel

Chief executive officer of Nvidia has made a yet another controversial claim regarding Intel Corp. and the legal battle between the two companies. The head of Nvidia is completely sure not only in the positive outcome of the dispute for Nvidia, but also says that Intel is scared of the graphics company.

“Let me ask you â€" when was the last time you saw a company as big as Intel sue another smaller company? They are scared and you can write this down: We will kick their ass when we go to court next year,†said Jen-Hsun Huang in an interview with T-Break web-site.

It is interesting to note that Intel itself does not call the legal dispute with Nvidia as a legal action. The world’s largest maker of chips said it had asked the court to determine whether cross-licensing agreement between Intel and Nvidia allows the latter to make and sell chipsets compatible with Intel processors that feature built-in memory controllers. Nvidia believes that it has appropriate rights, whereas Intel claims it does not.

For Nvidia, chipsets represent one third of quarterly revenue, hence, is an important chunk of the business. But chipsets hardly make Intel worry about Nvidia: at the end, it controls its own platform and has serious experience in its own chipsets; what is important is that both Nvidia and ATI,...

I think I saw that quote yesterday. Are you sure you aren't reposting that?
When have I saw another larger company sue another smaller company? How about Apple vs. Pystar.
Apple is smalltime.
I really hope the ruling is in Nvidia's favor.
No surprise there.
Geez, Intel is getting sued all the time these days. What's up with that?

I wonder if Jen-Hsun was wearing his cape during this interview.

Jen-Hsun is acting like a kid, no wonder his fanboys sound so similiar.

I hope Intel wins this one.
Interesting.

They want to get back into the chipset industry.

I would say to spite the local nVidia fanbase. Just my guess.

Why does nVidia think that it can tell Intel that they(nVidia) are going to make chipsets that are compatible with i7, i5 and i3 CPUs when its INTEL that holds the rights to its OWN products...

I think Big Green bit off more than it can chew on this one. Plus what is wrong Jen-Hsun??
He is acting like a moron.

Like I said before, this dood is way too cocky. Seems he wants to own the world, makes me lose more and more respect for Nvidia as a company every time he opens his mouth. At least I didn't see anything about Physx or Batman in this interview...

Intel and AMD wants to oust nVidia from the market place completely. If nVidia succeeds it will only delay the process and usually when one side is so sure they'll win almost always it goes the other way. Just my

I hope Nvidia does not leave the market place all together, though I hope ATi takes them down a peg or two and evens out the playing field a bit. But w/o the Fermi, DX11 is going to be an expensive ride to go ATi. Hopefully Fermi comes out, does what I expect (better than ATi's offerings, but for a bit more money) and drops ATi's prices a bit.

(That and maybe if the CEO of Nvidia could wear duct tape over the mouth part of the face more often, that would be a plus
)

Agreed. nVidia's existence is useful for keeping prices in check but the playing field should definitely be leveled.

The only company I see Intel fearing is Samsung. Nvidia is a small nuisance to Intel.

Why Samsung?

Samsung manufactures a lot of chips using their own architecture.
