When I get to writing the conclusion to my reviews, I usually start with listing the drawbacks of the reviewed solution and then get to their advantages. But today, I didn’t find any drawbacks about the new Scythe Mugen 2 cooler. I could complain that they didn’t include an additional pair of retention wire clips for the second fan into the accessories bundle, or that they used cheap and not very efficient SilMORE thermal interface, or that they didn’t make grooves in the cooler base… However, all the above mentioned things are negligible compared with the remarkable cooling efficiency, low noise during maximum CPU utilization and noiseless operation in regular mode, very low price compared against that of other super-coolers, full compatibility with all existing platforms, and finally popularity of Scythe solutions all over the world. If we try to compare Scythe Mugen 2 against ThermoLab BARAM from all these standpoints, the former leader will lose. However, I suggest that we make the final conclusions after a massive test session on the new Intel Core i7 (LGA 1366) platform that will be completed shortly.

I'd been wondering if this cooler was as potent as it looked. Here's the answer.

Yeah I have this cooler and I can say that it is an excellent cooler. It keeps my I7 which is at 4ghz (1.298 volts under load) below 80C while running linx, which is about the same as people get while running a TRUE, and it is only $40 on newegg which includes a fan.
Wow.. they put 1.5V just to get 3.8ghz on a qx9650?! shoulda bumped it up to 4.2 or whatever to produce more heat

Great results considering the Mugen 2 is only $40 and it comes with a fan. I see the reviewer was able to fit a push-pull in the antec 1200, does anyone know if i would be able to fit a push-pull in the antec 900?
Looks like it could be a tight fit if you have a big NB heatsink or RAM with tall heat spreaders... or both. But I don't think the case is really a concern.
i have the first infinity, which works great, better than the tuniq tower anyhow. I would be using it if only if the stupid big tyhoon back plate wasnt sealed on when i bought it used

They never tested one. This can be seen as trolling

Anywho, I posted a test from XS awhile back right before this cooler came out. It did 2c worse than a stock TRUE on average.
