Xbox 360 or PS3??

2333 Views 48 Replies 33 Participants Last post by  porschedrifter
I really am stuck, on one hand the 360 (arcade version) is $200 cheaper and their games seem to be a bit cheaper and on the other the pS3 has one hell of a line up of PS3-exclusive games and upcoming ones like GOW 3, their multiplayer is also free.

Which should I get?? Are there any upcoming 360-exclusive games to be excited about?

Note: I won't be using the blu-ray player in the PS3, so that part of the feature I could care less about

I have a 360 and had a ps3. I like both. It just depends what games you want.
360:
halo3, fable 2, gears of war 2, mass effect
ps3:
killzone 2, resistance 2, god of war 3, little big planet, mgs4

go by what games you want, both have good ones.
I have a 360, and have friends who have both>

360 has TONS of cheap games and great past exclusives. Both Single Player and Multiplayer (alah Halo3 and Mass Effect)
More games, cheaper
online costs (8us a Month)

PS3 has both aswell, tho not as popular (the new Socom etc)
Less games, better grafics
Online free/Has Web Browser

Just really depends on what you want.

Id recommend the 360 if you dont plan to use the Blu-ray

If the blu ray player isn't a factor, then get whatever system has the games you like.

And PSN may be free but that doesn't make it good.
If you don't want to be worried about using the warranty every other month, go ps3
ps3
more real exclusives (most good 360 "exclusives" are also on PC)

free online (and it is as good as XBL)
blu tooth (better than infared)
and most important no RROD!
PS3 FTW
oh dont foget the cell, that is really getting shown off with awesome games like KZ2 and MGS4.
xbox 360 is all over the better console, but if you want bluray, get a ps3, it has some good games too.
PS3... you can FOLD with it when it's idle =) And bluray is just awesome. Just watched batman with the gf (again) on BR (I know you don't care about BR, but, just rent one and you'll change your mind). PS3 is one of my best purchases ever.

Someone else mentioned this but it bears repeating: Both have exclusive games, but, anything that's 360 exclusive is usually on PC also, and PC always is better. PS3 exclusives are truly exclusive.

360 is just too expensive for all the little addons you need to make it comparable, and they have the audacity to charge a monthly fee? No thanks.

Your kidding right? The RROD and such just isn't an issue for new 360's.

No actually its just less of an issue ive read about it happening still its something new causing it, although its less common. It was in the news section here recently.

Ok enough with the RROD , he would be getting a jasper where that wouldn't be an issue.

Just because its an exclusive doesn't make it a good game, list examples please.

Bluray is awesome but he doesn't care about it.

Blue tooth is better how? I recall there being a lot of issues with the blue tooth mics and controllers .

RROD really isn't an issue for newer consoles, wasn't that big of an issue for older ones either.

Edit: That may have come off a bit fan boyish , but I just don't like it when people say something is better but don't say why or how.

i have had my launch 360 since day one and it still runs strong. i had a ps3 and it was ok, but i like the 360 better. i have played several games that were out for both systems and i find less slowdown on the 360.

as for graphics. i really dont see much of a difference. i dont care for bluray movies atm. regular dvd movies suit me just fine. not a fanboy here just a regular gamer who knows what he likes, and has experience with both consoles.
With the PS3 you also get built in wireless networking which is an extra on the Xbox 360, although not sure if this is something you needed. I'd get the Xbox 360 Arcade now because of the low price and then once you've had some use out of it maybe get a PS3 when the price is reduced (whenever that may be, but it's bound to happen at some point). Some of the PS3 exclusive may be out by then.
I loved my 360 for a while, then I got tired of paying $60 for games. Thats why I built my sig rig. But I never liked the PS3, mostly just personal preference. I hate their controller, PS Network sucks IMO. And not really any games that really catch me off. I say go with 360.

I own both and prefer the ps3 but that being said... buy a used 360 from someone locally. You will pay less than the price of two new games for it. If you don't like it you can always resell the 360 and/or buy a ps3 too.
its really up to you, ive owned both consoles and i thought the PS3 sucked. For me it just didnt have enough games for me to keep it so i sold it and kept my 360 plus i have tons of friends with 360's and live. It really just comes down to what your friends have + what games you like.

I mean it was an issue just that people jump on the RROD like every console was affected, alot were but hey atleast they admitted they screwed up offered a free repair.

Don't buy a 360 because it will red ring as an argument is irritating. I just didn't want that to be the deciding factor here.

Screw both, get a DSi.

Comeon it comes with a built in camera and you can take it places, what a crazy world we live in now.
