Ok guys, screw a 7800gt im all about the 7900gt now. Well ive got £279 on my card and an XFX GeForce 7900 GT Extreme Edition was £270 with VAT, so i was proper getting excited, then postage came and i was praying it would be under £279, it was so i started gettin scarily giddy, and then realised that the postage costs had bumped the VAT up by 16p. YES 16 ****ING P. I dont think ive been that gutted in a while. Anyway, just calming down now, and wanted to know if my almost impuls buy is as good as it sounds?
Cheers, Dan

look for the eVGA 7900GT CO, it's got a copper heatsink, so it will OC like crazy.

Negotiator u got my hopes up big then! And then i found out that the product was unavailable! ive ordered from scan.co.uk and i can gte it there for £277.30 with postage. Is this a good deal or does anyone reckon they can find a better deal.
I couldnt find the eVGA one anywher, so its not looking good for that. Im not really looking to overclock it anytime soon, as ther will be really no need, so im more about getting the best stock at the mo, and then ocin later down the line.

Cheers, more help is great guys!!!
Thanks.

Edit: Negotiator i can get it for £275 with postage off scan, so cheers for that link!!!, MOre ideas wanted tho

Dont expect to get high OC's though, eVGA and XFX pick out their chips, it's obvious becasue they always have hte highest OC'd version GPU's

Look at BFG, their highest one is 485MHz, obviously they aren't the greatest of chips, the highest factory OC'd GPU's will be the best chips that why they sell them at a higher price.

Not all GPU's will Overclock the same, if it's not that much more money, you're at least guaranteed the factory setting. When getting a lower clocked card you aren't guaranteed the higher clocks. It's a crapshoot.

If you can afford a higher clocked card, get it and OC it further, you're better off since you know it can achieve those speeds.

I think the XFX Extreme is the best card for the value, @ $310 (ZipZoomFly) you get 520MHz Core clock, higher than eVGA CO (500MHz) and you can easily make up the 30MHz (hopefully, I'll find out Thursday) and not spend the extra $40-$50 for the XXX and Superclock versions (560MHz and 550MHz, repsectively)

They are getting bought up fast.
I ordered my eVGA 7900gt @ newegg and about 1/2 hour later they were out of stock. Well, it's on the way, have confirmation and I was worried I'd be left with an email saying Sorry, all gone!
It's now at the local UPS

Thats the one that I just bought from Newegg for $315. I had ordered an eVGA 500/1500 from Monarch Computers but I got placed on the back order list so I cancelled it. I can't wait to try it. I also hope the Nvidia comes out with non Beta drivers for it soon.

Good luck getting a good deal on a 7900GT!

Computers get me all excited. I even dream about buying more stuff. I look at computer parts all day long. I think I need HELP! This 7900GT stuff ain't helping either. I am all excited. I just might get another for x16 SLI. I am surrounded by computers at home too. It's too addicting

Just had to vent, cause I was getting ready to explode with excitement. LOL
