Anyone Can Become ‘Ruler of the Universe’ with the New XFX Core Edition Graphics Cards

Ontario, Calif., March 3, 2009 â€" Virtual world domination takes mad skills and great equipmentâ€"but it no longer requires a big wallet, thanks to XFX’s new Core Edition graphics cards.
XFX Core Edition graphics cards provide gamers with optimal levels of performance, speed and user experience, launching gamers far beyond the ordinary from the very first frame. Attractively priced, every one of the XFX Core Edition graphics cards features superior craftsmanship that ensures a long and enjoyable gaming experience.
The XFX Core Edition line is made up of XFX’s newest release, the GeForce® GTS 250 available in 512MB and 1GB versions, in addition to the XFX NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260, and the XFX NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800 GTX+.
The GTS 250 graphics card is an exceptionally powerful graphics card that pushes its 128 cores to the limit, making it one of the fastest graphics cards on the market today. Gamers can doubleâ€"and even triple the smack down powerâ€"by running two or three GTS 250 graphics cards in 2-way or 3-way SLI® mode, providing ramp up of up to 2.8 times the performance of a single GPU.
The GTX 260 redefines “virtual reality†with a truly immersive 3D gaming experience that harnesses the power of second generation unified architecture, SLI technology and top-of-the-line DirectX 10 support.
And the 9800 GTX+ is currently the single most powerful 9-Series GeForce card available today and the Core Edition version allows gamers to get amazing power for less than ever before.
“Ruler of the Universe†used to be a title held exclusively by gamers who could get their hands on the priciest, most powerful products. Today, with the XFX Core Edition graphics cards, that same power is available for every gamer and every budget.

in before re-brand smack talk...

I just picked up an XFX card and all I can say is WOW. I haveb een using evga for quite some time and thought they were the best. Since owning the XFX 260 version I think that all my GPU's will some day be XFX.

I do have a question though; what happened to the 250 being a fail? Didn't fud or the INQ report that Nvidia was sending out these cards at a higher clock than what vendors were going to be selling them off as?
Heh, I love the language that companies use to sell their products. I like how they're still touting the unified shader architecture.
This isn't news, this is just an ad saying that XFX is making GPU's with the words "Core Edition" attached and saying its "superior craftsmanship". Though I do like XFX.
Marketing gimmick is a gimmick.

Unless the Core Edition gpu's end up coming cheaper than standard partner's base gpu's, what's the point?

This is just an announcement/advertisement of their entry of lowered-msrp graphics cards into the mainstream market, especially the Gtx 260.

Its a shame, I was hoping this article would be announcing a new category of xfx cards that were faster than the black editions hehe.
9800gtx+ the most powerful 9 series card? what about the 9800GX2?

What? it's not really a gimmick. EVGA's Superclocked, KO, and SSC editions are great

Why are they releasing a 9800GTX+ version AND a GTS 250 version?

Maybe because the GTX+ is the fastest single gpu 9 series card or its the fastest one still being made (although that may have stopped now with the introduction of the GTS250).

but this is essentially a vanilla 9800GTX+ really. At least EVGA's cards are overclocked.

So what happens to the XXX lineup?
Yeah i love XFX best brand, i didnt get xfx 9800GTX cause simply they where to expensive, got myself some Leadtek's could solid card hasn't died on me yet
Hasnt the GTX+ been out for a long while now?
I cant help it but to laugh at their poetic sales pitch lol. Gimme a break, I probably know more about the card than the person that wrote that.

I do love XFX though... just bought my second card from them.
