My system specs are listed in the spec-sheet. I might be adding one GTX560 (Asus DCU II) or XFX HD6950 2GB (will try to unlock) to it. So, I will be upgrading my smps too. I have my eyes on the three following models and I would like to find out the superior one among these.

1.> XFX PRO650W (P1-650S-CAB9)
2.> XFX 650W XXX Edition (P1-650X-CAH9 Gray Cooling Fan)
3.> Corsair TX650 (CMPSU-650TX)

So, PSU Gurus, please help.
As always, +rep to all useful and informative posts. One additional question, the XFX XXX psu comes in two models.. one has green and other has gray fan. Are there any other differences? The Corsair TX650 has two versions, one is old and the other is v2.... what are the differences? which one to get?
And, I should add that Seasonic PSUs are not available here in India.

I don't feel like using the poll since it's too restrictive for my taste, but here are my comments:
- The two XFX XXX units, green and gray, are identical other than their colors, so your preference between those two should be strictly aesthetical. They are modular unlike any other unit you mentioned, so that's a plus.
- Just forget about the Corsair TX650.
- The XFX Pro/Core 650W and the Corsair TX650V2 are identical internally and feature slightly better electrical performance than the XFX XXX units, but they aren't modular. On the flipside, in the US at least, the Corsair TX650V2 has a 5-year warranty whereas the XFX Core 650W only has 3 years. I noticed it also gets 5 years in the UK though. So if you get 5 years on both where you live, it's safe to get whichever of the two is cheaper.

So here's my suggestion to help you choose: like I said, exclude the Corsair TX650. Then pick one between the two XFX XXX units. Then pick another one between the TX650V2 and XFX Core 650W. That leaves you with 2 units to pick from. Then pick between modularity or slightly superior electrical performance (nothing you would notice, but it's only fair to mention it).

I'm using the XFX XXX 650W (Grey) w/ my sig rig and it powers without a sweat, so i think u will be fine if you go with it. Plus it's modular which is pretty much a must for cable management nowadays imo.

Just FYI -- the 750W Black Edition you have is completely different from the XFX XXX Edition 650W units, you cannot compare them
The 750/850W Black Edition units are significantly better in every way.

correct, the 750w is acually a seasonic unit rebranded as xfx. BUT the 650w is still a really good quality unit and was my first choice till i decided to go with the 750w for more headroom.

They are all SeaSonic units, all XFX units are made by SeaSonic, but the XXX 650W units are completely different from the Black Edition 750W/850W, internally.
And you're right, the 650W is a fine unit, I just wanted to clarify that it can't be compared to the Black Edition units.

Thanks to everyone for their inputs. I will be giving out the rep points after the Real Madrid game tonight. Anyway, It looks like the XXX650 is going to be my choice if it is not too costly. If it is much costlier (you would be amazed at the prices in our country) I shall look into the xfx650 core or TX650v2. In this case I will get the cheaper one. Guys please remember to vote, because it will be easier for me. Thanks.

I understand your frustration completely, but look at my predicament... I am going to spend my hard earned cash and yet there are not much options to pick from. Now, can you imagine my frustration

XFX XXX 650W is a modified SeaSonic S12. It has some issues when given low +12V loads. Not my favorite PSU.

Corsair TX650 is a CWT PSHII. It's decent, a bit above the XFX.

Corsair TX650v2 and the XFX Core 650W are both the same SeaSonic platform, a step up from the others listed.

I looked up the prices here today, and it seems that XFX Core650W is the cheapest of the lot, equivalent to around 134$ (USD) plus taxes. So, according to you I can safely pick this one up rather than the XXX edition. One question though, do you think the benefits offered in the core edition are worth sacrificing the advantages of a modular psu?
Also, which one would you have picked, XFX core or TX650?

I have finally bought my Corsair TX650 V2 and MSI GTX560 OC edition. So far I am just loving this new setup. I am sure that I will never use multiple gpus, the most I can do is to buy some top end card like gtx580 at some later date. My TX650 V2 will be enough for that.
