Xiggy Bolt Through Kit --- How do I get it off?

I'm pretty sure that when I put the backplate on my Xiggy bolt-through kit, there was some sticky pads that attached it to the motherboard. How the heck do I get this thing off without damaging my motherboard?

Hmm. Heating the adhesive is not necessary and may actually make it harder to remove (stickier and easier to tear). Just gently pull up one corner 20 degrees, move to the next corner and repeat until it uniformly comes off.

Okay thanks!

One vote for heat, one vote for no heat. Any other opinions?

I've done the hairdryer method at least 20 times over the past couple of years. Never had a problem with it yet.

there's really nothing else I can do other than brute force? I tried pretty hard when I was switching from the Xiggy to the TRUE and it wouldn't budge.

Like has been said, any sort of heat is ideal for removing it, that's always what I've done.

Once removed, there may be some residue left, clean that up with some rubbing alcohol if you have any, wait for it to dry, then apply the new backplate.

I got it aswell, i just took a small screwdriver and put it between the sticky pad and the actuall metla plate and carefully remove it.

This is why I never remove the plastic sheet and just dry-fit it on.
