I own a Dark Knight and replaced it within a month... Just didn't cool my Q6600 that great.... Maybe I just had bad luck with it but, it fell short of my expectations.. The Corsair H50 is working superb tho...
I am currently using the Dark Knight with the default AMD mounting (cooler facing video card). I have excellent temperatures. My ambient temperature is usually around 22-24°C and coretemp usually is at about 1°C more than my ambient. So, 23-25°C. Not bad.
You'll definitely get at least 3.8 (4ghz, just maybe but unlikely), if you can keep the chip stable (which for me is hard since you need INSANE voltages). At 3.834ghz my Phenom II x4 965 C2 temperatures max out at just 47 degrees
I have a Q6600 at 3.6GHz on 1.41v with the Dark Knight's older brother the S1283. Basically the same cooler, but the Dark Knight moves more air. The Dark Knight is perfect for anyone that plans on running reasonable volts. If you want to go beyond the 1.45-1.50v range, then look into water cooling. But honestly, it's not worth the extra $$ to get another 100-300MHz. The Dark Knight will satisfy you don't worry
