Xigmatek F1253 vs. Yate loon d12sl-12

I've been looking for fans to install in the front 2 120mm slots of my antec 300, but I just can't seem to decide between these two:

Xigmatek F1253
1500 RPM, 61 CFM, <20 dBA (I happen to know that the dba rating is rated incorrectly)

Or

Yate Loon D12SL-12
1250 RPM, 38.5 CFM, 25.4 dBA

The Xig's are pretty good fans.

The Xigs will have more airflow, and if you need alot of airflow I would grab them.

I like Yate's more because they don't have LED's, but that's the only reason I would pick them.

FYI, Those Xig's are about as loud as the Yate Loon High Speeds (IE: 40dB according to YL)

There is no way they are 40dB. Maybe 25dB. The Ultra Kaze 3K at 100% is 45dB, and these are still inaudible compared the the UK at 7V.

I should know, I have 3 of them.

I was saying 40dB by the Yate standards as they make around the same amount of noise as my Yate High's do.

Yate's 40dB is very...quite.. for 40dB though.

I would also prefer the quieter option. If the xiggy is 40db, it seems like its twice its db rating

I wouldn't say that 40dB is accurate, the sound rating is a bit scewed company to company.

Yate Loon has a bit of "true" way of testing. But it is not as bad as it sounds

Quote:
Yate Loon 120x25mm quiet case fan has a true 28.5 dB(a) decibel rating - measured in an anechoic chamber using ISO standards. This is one instance where the case fan's decibel ratings haven't been understated by the manufacturer.
Basically what this means to you and I, is that this fan would meassure 40dB in a completely silent room with the highest precision instruments from a very close distance.

But sound gets quiter over a distance, so what's 40dB right next to the fan, by one foot has already dropped to 35dB.

Sound rating is quite proportional to distance from the sound production device.

But what this means in actual real world use: these fans are pretty quite, along the 28dB - 35 dB area.

The yates come out as with the best spl vs cfm ratio in ehumes chart:

Unfortunetely ehume has not tested any Xigmatek fans yet.
