Is it much of an upgrade?

Could've asked the same question in your original thread.

There is a huge difference as the Essense has a built-in amp. Essense currently supports up to 2 desktop speakers. If you want to surround you'll have to wait for the Asus Essense ST model (yes, without the X in STX)
