Xonar DX problems

I bought myself a $2000 gaming rig and everything seems to work great except for my sound card. My Xonar DX is acting really weird. First of all, for some reason, it considers a 5.1 setup to be Left Front, Center, Right Front, Left Side and Right Side. So I had to change the position of my rear-speaker jack to the side-speaker one.

And then it gets worse. Left-front sound comes out of only my center. Center comes out of my left-front. I don't know where the hell my right-front comes out of, it's just a faint sound. Maybe my subwoofer? Subwoofer sound comes out of my right-front. The back two speakers seem to be fine.

I have Z-5500s. When I use the remote with the Z-5500s to test the speakers, the sound all comes out of the right places no problem.

Yes, I installed the drivers that come with the speakers. Hell, I even uninstalled and installed them again.

Yes, I disabled the on-board sound.

I have Windows Vista 64-bit.

How securely is the floppy 4-pin power connected? I considered superglueing it, since it is so loose and has such a hard time making contact.

I don't know what optical is, but I have green black and orange cables; the only cables going into or out of both my sound card and my speakers.

Oh don't give me that. We were all unaware of what an optical cable is at one time or another.

Great, I'll probably get one. Still though, not sure that will solve my problem.

I just like saying oh lawd, and I didn't know about it either a few months ago. I like the Z-5500s specifically for their optical connection though, so I found you not knowing as weird.
