xp quick install?

i keep readding about this, a "quick install"
to what i understand it only installs the needs and no extras?
how do i do it?

The only difference between Quick and "Full" reformat/installation is that FULL, scans for Bad Sectors on the hard drive, which is recommend on using on new hard drives

Quick installation, just skips the scan for bad sectors, so that's why it is faster than full. So, this option is safe if you're going to reformat with a hard drive that is working NORMALLY without any errors.

If you installed Windows XP on a partition that was formatted by using the Quick format option, you can also check your disk by using the chkdsk /r command after the installation of Windows XP is completed.

No, incorrect. The quick install option simply installs Windows XP. The full install options scans the HDD for bad sectors, that's why it takes longer.

Sounds like you are talking about a slipstreamed install disc. You can automate everything, install extras(service packs, updates, and drivers), and even remove unwanted stuff from your install. Do a search on slipstream XP disc, if you don't find what you are looking for, I know I have some info on it. I always wanted to make one, just never really needed it so I haven't yet.

dos it let me store my key? username ans such in it? if so i need to figure that out as my cisco teacher already does that
