Are you planning to buy your X1600 online or retail stores?
If online, post the link of the product(s) and i'll indentify it for you. Or, identify it yourself by reading the useful description below it. Same goes with the desription of the retail stores.

Surely, The XT has always been better than the pros. In my experience, the XT's are more expensive, better performance, and maybe more jacked up. (with cool + HUGE fan =D) About the memory having 512, again, read the description of the material your buying. Use google and go research for it.

I hope this helps!

X1600 XT is considerably better then the X1600 Pro.

The X1600 Pro uses DDR2 memory, while the XT uses high speed DDR3.

Just do yourself a favor and don't get one with a reference coolers, the HIS ICEQ has a great Artic Silencer on it, and will solve the noisy reference heatsink problem.

Other then that, its way superior then the 6600 GT of roughly the same price.

ALso 512mb doesn't matter for each of these cards, 256mb is all they can really make use of.
