Well, seeing how you have no HD, no memory, no PSU, your "making" your own cpu, and will "probably" use WinXP...? Theoretically you dont have a PC, and therefore this post doesnt exist (yet?)... :nerdsmile

Not to be a wiseass but, if you dont know how to install a fan yet, you better wait to start OC'ing... Most 3-prong connectors are set-up black/red/white, look at others on your MoBo as a reference...

*edit - does the fan work for sure? I know we all look for ways to cut costs, but ensure your 2nd-hand parts actually work before trying to install them...

Did you do a search yet...? Try looking here for ideas...http://www.overclock.net/showthread.php?t=6071

im talkin about the computer im essentially on right now not the computer i'm going to make the computer im making is gonan be AMD anyways but its an odd three prong it might be to old to work well i mean i think it works i was jsut trying to add a little less heat.
The connectors are notched to make sure you don't install them the wrong way so if it's on the motherboard header but doesn't spin, chances are the fan itself is toast. There's also the small chance the motherboard header is shorted out, but if you haven't used it before, that's a little unlikely.
