There won't be any performance difference with using 2x or 4x modules.
There's a bit more stress on the IMC when you have more modules, but with a mild OC that's really a non-issue.

If you can find a matched kit to yours cheaper than buying a new 16GB one, go for it.

Yeah, i found a kit to match my current ram. It's much cheaper than just buying 2x8 kit. Thanks for the explanation.

I see you have a 3770K, try to OC it up to 4.5Ghz with those memory sticks, it's a sweet spot and you shouldn't need a lot of Vcore to go for it. And do not worry about if you have 4 memory sticks or 2, it's doable without the need of any tweak...
