ok i mounted my 9500led, and its all screwed in tight etc, but im able to twist it like 2 degrees is that ok? <img src="/images/smilies/confused.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Confused" class="inlineimg" />

my temps are pretty good though <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" /> 57-58C at 3.4GHz and full load and pretty high ambients

Yeah, it worried me when i 1st installed it. Although i've installed it twice the 2nd time was when i decided to use Artic Silver 5 instead of the supplied rubbish. After the stuff has had time to set, you will not be able to move it.<br />

Idle: 55C<br />
Load: 71C<br />

After using Zalman 9500CU-LED & AS5<br />

Idle: 40C<br />

hehe u have same cpu as me, i hope i get those temps, though i wont over clock it straight away im to scared XD<br />

also when u put the artic silver 5 on, i put a small like down the center of the cpu liek this, or did u do a different method?<br />

A more generous portion than that is required to be efficient dude, a nice healthy blob the size of your thumb print in the centre of the cpu is enough.

Seriously you need a blob in the middle, that is nowhere near enough.

A blob of AS5 the size of your thumbprint is WAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH. Have a look at Crash's AS5 installation video.you'll find it below...<br />

errm how can you compare cpu temps to your grapics?!?!<br><br>
and also you just need a dot in the middle of the cpu around the size of a bb - and thats enough as5

The Conroes (Which are Dual-Core) doesn't have a die that large, you only need about a blob which is 25% of an inch in diameters.

Yeah, just a rice grain sized blob. And you can spread it out on the chip with a credit card or razor blade, that is my preferred method. Also before setting the hs put a really small amount of as5 on the zalman and smear over the entire hs and then wipe it off. (To fill the tiny grooves in the hs)

YEs, using TAT, or Core Temp, the Core 2 Duo can take up to 85C.<br><br>
It's gotten cold overnight... load temp dropped to like 51C-52C... gotta love fall/winter.. hehehehe
