So do you think it is actually working correctly and the program just isn't displaying the proper readings or is the motherboard actually causing a malfunction?

Hmm I've found that if I plug it in using 1000hz and then use a mouse hertz changing program to 500hz it is stable.
Since fluctuating polling rates seem to be a problem on some of the modern motherboards, I've heard that using a pci or pci-e to usb expansion could be a solution for anyone else who gets really stuck.

i noticed 1000hz is alot more stable on this mouse, but 500hz might give higher perfect control speeds for some odd reason.

I don't have an AM, but my Zowie EC2 polling rate wasn't very stable on two different motherboards. All other mice with 500/1000 polling were much more stable.

What windows you got and Service Pack?

I am on windows 7 sp1, asus p67 board, the polling is very stable 997-1000 hz.

I remember about reading some people had problems with unstable polling rate in general, not just with zowie AM, and it's not caused by the mice.

Think it maybe caused by certain bios settings with some motherboards/chipsets, buggy old drivers, non-native usb 3 ports(try usb 2 port), not having latest SP/updates on windows,

I have this exact same problem with my Sensei on a P8P67 Deluxe as well. Mouse set to 1000hz. I will try changing the Hz to see if it becomes stable.

Should be the same thing. I had the same problem with the Intel P55 chipset, the polling rate was all over the place (known issue). Now i use a PCI to USB card and works like a charm.

IME 3.0 (500 Hz)

700

Some mice (sensors) have trouble keeping a stable polling rate though, no matter what. My Steelseries Kana misses a poll interval very often and then reports the accumulated counts. Something like this:

500
500
500
100
900

500
500
