I don't have an mp3 player since I bought an ipod nano and hated it. so I sold it, haven't owned one since. I saw the Zune 16GB for $160 final, and was wondering if its any good. and what programs does it use to sync with pc? does it have a browser with flash support? and finally, how many apps does it have?

edit zune HD

It's great as an mp3 player, but sucks for apps and browsing. The browser is clunky and doesn't support flash. There's also less than 15 apps available.

To sync with your PC, use the Zune program. http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/software/download/
Podcast was also weird. It would never give me the newest podcast even though my settings were correct. Wifi sync is cool though.

I would really recommend an iPod Touch or an Android based PMP instead. You will get a better browser and more apps.

Everybody prefer the touch for apps. Zune also has better sound quality.

More then likely the OP is going to get the touch for the apps.

If you're talking about the Zune HD and not the regular Zune, then yes, definitely get it.

I absolutely love my HD. I personally don't care about apps, as the ones that are included do what I need. I can seriously entertain myself for hours with Audiosurf.

I'd personally wait, since WP7 is coming out, and features a different OS than the current Zune HDs. With that being said, a new Zune HD with the WP7 OS is in the works. Wait for that!

The Zune HD is definitely great.

Pros:

~ Super responsive touch screen
~ Intuitive design
~ Easy to navigate, while still maintaining a sort of artistic style
~ No lag when browsing songs/artists/pictures/video
~ Light weight
~ Very sturdy, with a nice brushed metal backplate
~ Drivers are really nice, and the syncing is easy just like Apple's

Cons:

~ Not enough apps for the app store
~ Battery is hit and miss (lasts a while on some, dies quickly on others)
~ Browser is... so-so... loads quickly, though

Things I noticed while having my 16gig HD for about a month.

I have had a 16gb zune hd since launch day, so I have some experience with it.

I will try to give you a short, sweet answer.
If you want it for music, pictures, and video, it is a great device with fantastic battery life. However if you are interested in apps, look elsewhere.
