EK is introducing special edition reservoir - EK-RES X4 250

EK Water Blocks, Ljubljana based premium liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is proud to introduce a new high-end, special edition liquid cooling reservoir, the EK-RES X4 250!

EK-RES X4 is a high-end standalone liquid cooling reservoir unit with completely new design and features. The first major distinction from the existing RES-X3 Series is its sheer size with 250mm in height and 90mm of diameter on top and the bottom. The body of the unit features premium high quality glass tube with 80mm in diameter. This provides extreme volume space and the reservoir can hold up to 0,8 liters of liquid.

Top and bottom are made of quality POM Acetal material, with special metal nut holders that allow for the mounting of the reservoir in different positions. RES X4 UNI holder and RES X4 120mm fan holder are enclosed for mounting the unit inside the case. Both are made of nickel plated metal. One is designed as a vertical stand that can be mounted on a 120mm fan or chassis bottom and the other as, either vertical or horizontal stand for mounting directly in the chassis. The mechanism allows for easy adjustment and orientation.

(Black holder on the right photo is not enclosed!)

Furthermore the unit is packed with ports, it features a total of 8 ports! The top has two G1/4" threaded ports and one 3/8" threaded port, which is intended as a fill port. The bottom features no more than five G1/4" threaded ports - users will be able to really find the perfect orientation and port configuration! In case of the horizontal position, customers will be able to utilize EK-HD Tubes that can serve as a suction and pressure ports inside the unit. The reservoir comes pre-installed with Anitcylone for preventing the swirl of the liquid.

Bottom features an LED strip with a white bright light-emitting diodes that will illuminate the liquid inside the reservoir. The position of the LED strip cable is also adjustable, so users will be able to hide it away from view.

EK-RES X4 250 is made in Slovenia, Europe and is readily available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network. MSR prices with included VAT are in the list below.

Woah, I might totally pick one up to try out when I make the switch over to acrylic near the end of the year.

I have been using nothing but Aqualis reservoirs cause they are very minimalistic plus they are glass, but this might tempt me over as I really like the style plus (probably something only I will point out

) the lighting implementation is really clean compared to the LED slots in the Aqualis.

By the looks of it the LED strip is easily removable correct? If it does it could also allow for a RGB LED strip as well.

That res is gorgeous but does the Special edition mean this be a limited run item?

Would love to see you guys go way of the XSPC Photon and create some variants with a D5 or DDC integrated, either way, I am pleased you have chosen glass and I also like the LED strip feature too.

I could have even combined shipping with the fans!
I just purchased an EK XRES REVO 100, and the 140 tube and the EK white acetal top, and now going with this new X4 250 reservoir for my build, so I feel your pain.

It's all part of the hobby.

I'll be picking the X4 250 up next Monday from PPCS, so anyone want some specific measurements or photos I'll post over in the CaseLabs thread, so just ask me any info you want about the new EK res.

Modding my CaseLabs S8S with an 80mm hole saw to accommodate the amazing new EK X4 250. Cutting a hole in the mid-chassis horizontal table so the big beast will reside within and span two compartments. Left foreground in this photo is the XRES REVO 100 with a 140 tube just purchased it, but hey it's NOT borosilicate glass NOR will it shine beautiful white LED light up from the lower compartment, that's effect alone is worth the extra purchase.

Using an EK XE 240 rad in Push/Pull with four 120mm Vardar 2200rpm PWM ERs in the lower chamber and an EK CE 280 rad in the Flex Bay with new EK 140mm 2000rpm ER fans (when the new design comes back from the recall) in Push only to keep the aesthetic of the upper compartment clean pure and minimal. The box of four 36inch long 5/8in Monsoon PETG tubing in the background is being replaced with Mayhems 16mm borosilicate glass tubing, glass tubing - glass reservoir clear EK fluid, white LEDs here and there to transmit clean light through the clean glass, it's an X99 workstation rig (not a gaming rig), with only single EVGA KingPin graphics and a 6-core Intel CPU, so I think I have enough cooling in the two radiators, although some may say I don't have enough, wanted to keep this build as SFF as possible and rest it on top off my computer table in the office, next to me.

Thank you EK for making this build so amazing, although you are costing me a great deal of money. (So Worth It)

Oh my, this is rather gorgeous. Obvious/silly question: Will additional colours be available for the led strip?

EK may offer different colored LED strips later on, but so easy to make your own and give it a molex pwr if needed.

What we are certain of is EK WILL offer at least ONE SMALLER glass tube and at least ONE LARGER glass tube as an accessory, and by next year they will most likely offer white acetal tops and bottoms.

Too late for my build, plan on PlastiDipping the X4 top white, possibly buying a white EK acetal top later in 2016 when all the accessories arrive and the X4 becomes a completed series.

Getting my X4 250 as soon as PPCS notifies its ready for pick up. Sleep was rough last night because of this lovely Gaheesmo.

At 100% PWR 12volts, the EK X4 250 reservoir's white LED array is headlight bright and warms up the lower aluminum ring nut, will most likely warm the reservoir coolant right through the borosilicate glass. I'll have to place the supply line on some sort of rheostat-variable resistor or fan controller.

No one will complain these 15 LEDs are not bright enough, good job EK I'm planning on clear fluid but even a thick pastel coolant will be happily illuminated with these high beams, well done EK and thank you for this awesome touch of engineering.

Your Aquaero has two 12V PWM ports that will power those LEDs and hopefully they will respond to dimming.
