2x subwoofers ?

Hello!
I have 2x 2.1 speakers and subwoofer set , however the reason I bought the new one is that the old one left speaker is broken.. So I was wondering if I could somehow hook up that unused old subwoofer to have 2x subwoofers for better bass boost?
I also have 2x audio cards so maybe I could start them both up and just plug the old subwoofer into the unused audio card??
Please advise

ia simple 3.5mm splitter (1 male for the sound card and 2 females for the subs then use the patch cords to run from the splitter to the subs) should send the single sub output signal to the 2 different subs from a single sound card. within windows you have to choose a single output device so i dont think you could run your audio through 2 sound cards simultaneously. the balance between the 2 subs could be a bit off if each has its own control pod for balance/levels/etc.

in the past i have been able to use 2 sound cards for 2 different programs at the same time but i dont remember seeing a way you can output a single program through 2 different cards. some mobos will let you do the opposite with their onboard audio (split the single device so it looks like 2 cards)

Thanks for bump
And yes , I think I have that splitter somewhere , but I thought i could use 2x audio cards with 1 program (media player)... Oh well , i'll try with the splitter , i hope I can get good bass boost with it!!
Stack the subs for the most output gain IMO, or spread them out for a more even bass response, up to you!

Stack them up? That doesn't seem ideal, the main reason you would use two subwoofers is to smooth the in-room bass response so you would want them in two separate corners of the room.
It's not ideal but it theoretically gives the most db boost and the main reason most use two cheaper subwoofers is for increased output

Are the sets the same?

Two speakers don't give you TWO X THE MEGABASS BOOST you might be looking for.

This. It depends on what the speakers are. If they're the same, you could get up to about 3dB over a single subwoofer. If they're NOT the same, you could actually get worse sounding bass response, and cancel out some frequencies entirely.

Speakers = subwoofers. A subwoofer is a speaker.

What are the speakers exactly? Do they match with your new ones?
