I dont have one but 70c under load doesnt sound too hot to me. Im sure someone who has one will chip in and say for sure though.

100 celcius IS the maximum

tho that doesn't mean its recommended...............

 

I'd have to say that 80C is pretty much nearing the recommended high end for video card temps. If you're loading under 80C there shouldn't be any problem temp-wise.

GPUs are made to run hotter than CPUs. a lot of high end Radeon owners would love to have their cards top out at only 70°C.

PS you really shouldn't touch the PCB while the computer is on. humans conduct electricity and you can short something out on your card.

 

when i was on stock cooling mine would run 67-70 under load @ 730/1130

do you have your fan running at full speed?

 

Its not the stock cooler, i have a iceberq6,

I'm just wondering is the whole card suppose to get so hot, i can touch anywhere on the card and its really hot, and the ramsinks under load are so hot I can barely keep my fingers on there.

 

The temperature is fine but please dont touch the pcb when the card is active. You run the risk of shorting it out!!

 

that is odd..when i switched to my zalman i dropped to 37-38 idle and 50-52 under load...

but as far as the card i can touch mine and it isnt that hot

It's not hot most of the time, only when i play a game or run the scan for artifacts. your is clocked pretty high, did you try touching the pcb when its being stressed?

I have to touch it to see how hot it is, but i do touch some metal on the case before i do.

 

Later today I'm gonna see if I can get 1ghz on the core, the way it's going the whole card is going to be burning hot.

 

i can put my hand on it and it's warm... i also have 5 120mm fans in my case..i have decent airflow going over the card so that could be why it's just warm

Because they rate the 8 series on the spec sheets safe until 100C. Doh? Maybe do some research before calling people mad.

70C is very safe, you have nothing to worry about.

 

I'm not really worried about the core, I'm worried about the rest of the components on the card, cause the hole card is getting damn hot,

Anyway I have it at 900/900 and under load it's hitting 76c
I already have the voltage at 1.72v, you think I can give it more voltage or is that too much?

Open the case up as much as you can and blow on it really hard and I bet 1 ghz should be possible. Thats one bullet proof card.

I tried to blow on it really hard, but I got dizzy and then I passed out, It didn't seem to help very much.

I had a X1950 pro and it ran at 64c load. That is even being overclocked to 660/1450

My 7900GS loaded gets hot you don't even have to touch it to feel the heat coming off of it but the load temp is only 61c on it.It has been running like that for months now without a problem so i wouldn't worry about it.

 

If you are worried, just put a fan over the backside of the card.
