It auto updates, always. Try using the music folder and check it is added to the library in settings.

Foobar is my favourite music player, however it takes a lot of tinkering to get it to function how you'd like. It probably took me weeks.

I suggest you just fiddle around with all the different layouts, tabs and folders until you find something you like.

Just got to File > Preferences > Media Library. Under the "Music Folders" section, you should see the path to your music folder. If not, just hit the Add... button and browse for it. That's all that needs to be done. The way foobar works it it just scans the contents continuously. If you add more songs to your music folder, foobar2000 will update automatically - there's nothing you need to do.

And FWIW, I agree with twerk - he's right saying it takes some time to get foobar the way you like. But, once you get the hang of it, it's very rewarding. Stick with it and if you have questions, just ask. There's lots of people here that use it, so you'll get plenty of help.

 

You need to enable Library viewer selection playlist if you want to just play all the music in the folder without making playlists.

Its found in Media Library settings.
