same system in the sig.

XMS3 DHX 1333mhz 9-9-9-24

Nothing in your system is really top of the line, so I don't see why 1333MHz RAM would be a bottleneck. However... if you do a lot of multitasking, like video editing, encoding, browsing the web AND gaming at the same time, I'd suggest getting 8GB. RAM being a bottleneck depends entirely how you wish to use your computer. You can hit 100% CPU/GPU Usage while only using 2GB, or you could be held back by not enough RAM using 10% CPU/GPU Usage simply by multitasking.

I'm running 32-Bit XP and with the Ram Limitation of around 3GB, I find myself occasionally hitting the 100% mark, but it's easy to avoid doing that if I don't run more than a few intense tasks.

He should be running minimum 1600mhz ddr3 on a 1100t. Using 1333mhz memory is a waste on that CPU.

The only games I know of that actually make use of faster ram are FSX and X-Plane. But even then, the difference is negligible. I have 3 sets of 4gb kits. Mushkin 1333mhz, G. Skill 1600mhz, and G. Skill Flare 1800mhz. I can't tell a difference in games at all between the 3 kits. The only time I have noticed a difference between the 3 sets is when I'm encoding video. So I would say your ram is not a bottleneck at all. But in the end it's your money. Feel free to buy faster ram though at your own peril.

When it comes to gaming, reality doesn't support your disparagement of DDR3-1333 with the x6.

Wow, that's quite the intensive OS bottleneck you have there. 16GB of RAM, 1GB GPU, whatever else your BIOS / UEFI uses, and a 4 core / 8 threaded CPU..... All on an OS designed for single core use and 4GB max total memory. What do you have available for RAM? 2GB out of 16? 2.5?

To the OP:
No, DDR3-1333 isn't really "bottlenecking" your system. It's fine. RAM is still relatively cheap right now. So it really wouldn't HURT to grab 8GB of 1600 (or higher if you wanted). Just make sure you use a more modern OS than Windows XP.

They're bringing it up because the original poster clearly stated that he uses his rig mostly for gaming. Did you not read that?

That, and the OP has a black edition CPU.

Yes I did. If he's gaming he obviously would want to overclock his computer for better performance. 1333 ddr3 CL9 isn't going budge when overclocking his CPU and/or IMC. We all know the performance gains from overclocking the IMC on AMD systems.

Memory doesn't directly effect gaming performance but t does effect computer performance especially when overclocking. Did you forget which website you're on?

Simply not true.

A lot of the original moderators on this forum didn't overclock

Also, the original poster never said anything about overclocking, so to claim his ram is a bottleneck is simply wrong. I would be willing to bet I could get his sticks to at least 1600
