I just got a linksys 3500a, I have it setup, internet is working fine.
My question(s) have to do with setting it up fr gaming. There is a option under security called apps and gaming. In this section is has
Single port forwarding, port range forwarding, and port range triggering.
Are these options to help reduce lag or are they for maintaining a server?

If you mean setting it up for gaming as in QoS, I'm not sure if that model has that feature.

And the port forwarding is used for stuff like with my Plex media server, using some remote monitoring software, etc. It's to get access to your computer from outside your network, with access granted on a special port. Nothing really to do with ping; QoS could help with ping though.

Oh ok...

It does come with QoS.

"The integrated QoS technology helps to prioritise latency-sensitive traffic which can help you to stream media, place a phone call or play multiplayer games without interruptions."

This is a screen from my computer. I want to set it up for call of duty 4.
Are you or any any one else able to help me?
