Loop Question - 2nd Res

Looking at putting a second res in my loop. This will be purely for looks and to cover an annoying area of my case which looks kinda ugly. My question is, will this affect the performance of the loop too much and will I run into issues getting this thing running.
The loop will be main res--pump--rad--2nd res--gpu and so on. The 2nd res will be cyclindrical and run horizontal fairly low in the case below the motherboard.
Thanks.

as long as you can get you're 2nd res fully sealed it should be okay. As pressure is only applied via height, as the volume area does not apply pressure.

but if you're dumping into it from the top and having it leave the bottom it really wont be a problem.

the reason for the second res to be fully sealed is because the pump only pumps into it and does not suck from it. therefore the water needs to be completely full pressure forcing out of the res and back into the loop. It won't act like the first res and be half full of water.

All in all to re answer the question. the second res should not affect the loop by any means.

yes it will essentially just act like a big tube. no pressure difference. the only time pressure will be added to a loop is when you at one point in time in the loop make a small holed opening. but in this case you make it bigger. therefore yes once again, just adding a fancy tube.

go for a helix res to add looks may i suggest?
