Need Tubing Tips for Flow/Heat

Alright so I am going to go with a water cooling unit. I want to make my own custom, I think the term is, Loop.

I want to know the tips and tricks of creating custom fitted tubing. Everything from diameters and lengths to efficient liquid flow and heat absorption.

I checked out the essential threads sticky and couldn't find any general help on this. I don't know anything about the flow for water cooling. Looking for a run down or maybe even a link to a thread I overlooked.

Generally speaking, the larger tubing the better.

You won't see much performance gain (heat or flow) going from larger than about 3/8" ID. I would recommend 1/8" thick tubing however, to help avoid kinks. Tubing should be cut to proper lengths for flow and aesthetics.

Under what circumstances would larger not be better?

The larger the tubing, unless you have a double-wide case or at least a 700D/800D, it becomes more difficult to work with.

1/2"ID x 3/4"OD tubing (like I use) is just a pain to route perfectly if you don't have the proper case.
