Ouch that price is steep! I can't wait to read your thoughts on this beauty!

Looking forward to your review... mmm can't wait for this to be a reasonable price someday for the rest of us. I hope by 2020 there is nice competition in OLED gaming monitors...

4K @ 60hz and DP 1.2? So $3K for OLED?

Well, this will be a good replacement on my 2nd rig.

It would be awesome if you tell us how does it compare to the LG 4K OLED OLED55C6P model on input lag. If the difference is not very noticeable then i think the price is a little too high.

I was just playing Overwatch on my C6P and input lag is totally fine to be honest. I haven't done a lot of HDR gaming, where the input lag becomes a bit worse, but the Dell doesn't even support HDR so it's not a fair comparison anyway.

Better than $5000. Still can't fathom that price though considering LG has 55" 4k OLED for $2000 (and less on sales) with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, DCI-P3 color space, excellent anti-retention features, etc.

I am with himcor on this one. As soon as they make a 35-38" 3440x1440 or 4320x1440 55" 144hz with 0.1ms response time and this color quality and G-Sync for $2000 or less they can take my $

The LG OLED TVs get burn in, but they have a program you can run on the TV that completely eliminates it. It takes an hour or so, so you can just run it overnight every couple of weeks or when you notice some burn in. I've only run it once in 2 months.

They also have a setting which shifts everything by a few pixels. You'll notice it cuts off a bit of your taskbar sometimes, but it really helps with the burn in.

They don't really have burn in (unless you are aggressively trying to do it.) Their is some image retention some times, but you need to work to get that too. LG does pixel shifting that one doesn't notice on a TV, but might on a monitor in your face. Also as aberrero said, it will do clean up cycles at shutdown (it is after 4 hours of use.)

It is most likely a Samsung screen. which might be better as that is a RGB screen. I think all the laptop screens are Samsung too.

also, DAMN YOU.. DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL! I was saving money!
yep, ordered!!

(ugh, i just got the new 2017 OLED TV too.. and i need to save up for skylake-X and the x299. At least i had the will power to not get the titan Xp 2017.. so far...)

I waste sooooooo much money upgrading all the time. I even have ninja plans when i replace TVs. (it must be done before my wife comes home from work... maybe she won't notice...)

but on topic with the monitor. Even if it falls short (and it does.. no hdr, 60hz, no gsync, a little small...) OLED is soooo amazing i can live with it.
and next year when a better, bigger screen is out with 2.1 - i'll update to that

From what I remember, the panel Dell was sourcing for this was a Samsung panel (so no filters over the OLEDs.) Therefore, I am curious as to if this is RGB subpixel (like a regular monitor,) RGB stripe, or Pentile. This page shows a demo of the last two: https://www.oled-info.com/galaxy-note-2-uses-non-pentile-oled-display-267-ppi

If it is one of the three above, it is likely Samsung. If not (white subpixel as well,) this probably means either LG or Sony (as Sony seems to make their own panels for their Trimaster series, although I am having a hard time confirming this.)

Although, I am curious about something. The 30 inch Trimaster 4k OLED monitor seems very similar to this monitor... makes me wonder.

Price isn't too bad as well for what it is, but I'll still be waiting for a Displayport 1.3 version at 23.8 inches for 4k at 120hz. Not to mention, let's see how it handles burn in on the desktop... on the flip side, burn in makes me nostalgic for Descent I and Afterdark screensavers.
